I was thinking of getting one of these too. I am not in to H.D.’s much anymore for some of the reasons you touched on in your write up. I still own a Sportster but, I really want one of these Scouts or perhaps a Chief / Chieftain as my second choice. I’m in no hurry so, I will check back here to read up on your experience. Glad you and your wallet are the guinea pig on this one! Feel free to email me with your experiences with Sky in Lakeland and with Indian / Polaris itself, you know, stuff you may not write about here! Keep up the good work!

Thanks Rob! Wow you found my site pretty quickly I just started it last night. Thanks for leaving the first comment to get the ball rolling here. I will absolutely share my experiences here and as always, I leave the sugar coating aside. There were some issues with the Indian site contradicting what was actually available like sissy bar and back rest sold separately vs as a set with one invalid part number and the mapping included with exhaust text which was mysteriously re-worded within an hour after I called Indian. Small growing pains for a new product “brochure” I am sure but, frustrating all the same. Sky has been great so far but, I have yet to make the 50 mile trip to Lakeland to meet them. Transaction was done solely over land line. There is an Indian Dealer 3 miles from me but, they are “not allowed” to receive stock until their new showroom is completed. I’ll keep it all up to date here with new info when I encounter! Thanks again..

Dude your writeup on this is really helpful although you have not even ridden the bike yet. Nice to hear it from a real person instead of someone getting paid. I too want one of these and I will be tuned into your stuff here to see what happens next..

Thanks for the ego cookies man!
I will keep it real as always whether paid or not but, yeah getting paid for what I do would be a nice luxury!
The ads here are currently my only recourse in paying for my server, domain names and related expenses.
    Thanks again.

Man that 85 Sabre you have is in great shape. I had one in the late 80’s and had to sell due to hard times. Would you consider selling it?

NFS. I would never get any sleep.
I added the OEM sissy bar with backrest and luggage rack a week after this picture. (find oem one!)
Carbs were totally rebuilt with OEM parts a year (~1000 miles) ago. (@~70k)
Tires has about 2500 miles on them.
      Windscreen is not mounted properly.
Love the self cancelling turn signals.
Has new OEM turn signal stems.
I have new OEM starter clutch bearings, pins and springs but, have yet to install them.
My son will be getting this bike soon anyhow but, thanks for asking.
